Top Places to Visit in Bengaluru
Lalbagh Botanical Garden
Lalbagh Botanical Garden was commissioned in 1760 by Hyder Ali, ruler of Mysore, and completed by his son Tipu Sultan, modeled in part on the Mughal gardens of northern India, and has since grown into one of India's most significant botanical collections, spread across 240 acres with more than 1,800 plant species. Its centerpiece Glass House, inspired by London's Crystal Palace, hosts flower shows each January and August around Republic Day and Independence Day, drawing large crowds for elaborate floral displays. The garden also contains Lalbagh Rock, one of the oldest exposed rock formations on Earth at roughly 3,000 million years old, designated a National Geological Monument, alongside a lake, an aquarium, and Kempegowda's watchtower marking what was once the city's southern boundary. It remains a popular spot for morning walks among Bengaluru residents well beyond its role as a tourist attraction.
From Kempegowda International Airport, take a BMTC Vayu Vajra airport bus or taxi toward the city center, then continue by metro or taxi to Lalbagh, roughly 45-60 minutes total depending on traffic.
From KSR Bengaluru City Railway Station (also called Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna station), take the Namma Metro toward National College station on the Green Line, a short walk from the garden's west gate.
From Kempegowda Bus Station (Majestic), take the Namma Metro toward National College station, a short walk from Lalbagh's west gate.
Bangalore Palace
Bangalore Palace was built in 1873 for the Mysore royal family, its Tudor-style turrets, battlements and wooden interiors deliberately modeled on England's Windsor Castle, reflecting the close ties between the Mysore monarchy and British colonial administration of the period. The palace's interiors display elaborate wood carvings, Belgian glass windows, ceiling frescoes, and portraits and photographs documenting the Wadiyar dynasty that ruled Mysore for centuries, along with a collection of hunting trophies and vintage furniture. Its grounds, covering 45 acres, have become a popular venue for large concerts and events, so it's worth checking ahead if a quiet visit to the palace interior itself is the goal, as parts of the grounds can be closed off for private functions. Photography inside the palace generally requires an additional fee on top of the entry ticket.
From Kempegowda International Airport, take a BMTC Vayu Vajra airport bus or taxi toward the city center, then continue by taxi or auto-rickshaw to the palace, as it isn't directly on a metro line.
From KSR Bengaluru City Railway Station, take the Namma Metro toward Mantri Square Sampige Road station on the Green Line, then a short auto-rickshaw or taxi ride to the palace.

Cubbon Park
Cubbon Park, laid out in 1870 and named for a former British commissioner of Mysore, spans some 300 acres in the heart of Bengaluru and remains one of the city's most important green spaces, home to more than 6,000 trees and a mix of manicured lawns, wooded paths and colonial-era buildings. The park houses the State Central Library, the Karnataka High Court's striking red Attara Kacheri building, and the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum, a hands-on science museum popular with families, all within its grounds or immediately adjacent. Its shaded avenues are especially popular in the early morning with joggers, yoga groups and walkers, offering a genuinely calm counterpoint to the traffic-heavy streets surrounding it. Being centrally located and directly served by its own metro station, it's one of the easiest of Bengaluru's major sights to fit into a short visit.
From Kempegowda International Airport, take a BMTC Vayu Vajra airport bus or taxi toward the city center, then continue by metro (Purple Line) to Cubbon Park station.

ISKCON Temple
The ISKCON Temple in Rajajinagar, completed in 1997, is one of the largest Hare Krishna temples in the world, its complex blending traditional South Indian temple architecture with modern glass-and-steel construction and a distinctive tiered golden gopuram visible from a distance. Dedicated to Krishna and Radha, the temple complex includes multiple shrines, a large hall for devotional chanting and gatherings, and an escalator, unusual for a Hindu temple, carrying visitors up through part of the complex on the way to the main sanctum. Beyond its religious function, the complex includes a vegetarian food court, a small museum on Vedic culture, and shops selling religious items and books, giving it a broader visitor experience than a typical single-shrine temple. Evening aarti (devotional lamp ceremony) draws a substantial crowd of both worshippers and visitors, and the temple grounds are particularly peaceful in the early morning before the day's crowds arrive.
From Kempegowda International Airport, take a BMTC Vayu Vajra airport bus or taxi toward the city center, then continue by metro (Green Line) to Mahalakshmi or Rajajinagar station, a short auto-rickshaw ride from the temple.
From KSR Bengaluru City Railway Station, take the Namma Metro Green Line toward Mahalakshmi or Rajajinagar station, then a short auto-rickshaw ride to the temple.

Vidhana Soudha
Vidhana Soudha, completed in 1956, houses the Karnataka state legislature and is one of Bengaluru's most recognizable landmarks, built in a style its architects called neo-Dravidian, combining elements of traditional South Indian temple architecture with the scale and function of a modern government building. Its granite facade, sourced and largely hand-carved by workers brought in specifically for the project, and its dome-topped central tower have made it a symbol of the state government since its completion. The building is generally not open for casual interior visits, since it remains an active seat of government, but its illuminated facade on Sundays and public holidays draws large crowds for evening photographs, and the surrounding area, including the High Court building across the road, forms one of the most architecturally significant government precincts in India. It sits close enough to Cubbon Park to combine easily into the same outing.
From Kempegowda International Airport, take a BMTC Vayu Vajra airport bus or taxi toward the city center, then continue by metro (Purple Line) to Sir M Visvesvaraya station (Central College), a short walk from Vidhana Soudha.
From KSR Bengaluru City Railway Station, take the Namma Metro Purple Line to Sir M Visvesvaraya station, a short walk from Vidhana Soudha.
